James Pratt, Principal and Co-Founder of Power Delivery Inc., brings more than 25 years of expertise in the utility and generation industries, specializing in operational oversight and execution strategy. Known for his unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and productivity, James has successfully led large-scale projects, programs, and asset management initiatives for some of the industry's most respected organizations, including PG&E, SMUD, HDR, and Quanta Services. His wealth of knowledge and dedication make him a trusted partner for utilities, investors, and contractors alike.
James began his career in the field, following in his father’s footsteps. He worked as a meter reader, groundman, apprentice, and journeyman lineman before advancing through roles as engineer, project manager, director, vice president, and president. This unique trajectory has given James a deep appreciation for the craft who risk their lives daily to keep critical infrastructure running. His ability to connect field operations with executive strategy ensures that every decision is grounded in respect for the workforce with a focus on operational excellence.
An accomplished leader and lifelong learner, James holds a bachelor of science degree from San Diego State University and an MBA from California State University, Sacramento. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds multiple licenses, including general contractor, electrical contractor, and master electrician certifications across several states. These credentials, combined with his extensive industry experience, uniquely position James to deliver exceptional results for stakeholders.
